Week 15 - Pray for those to whom we can extend God’s grace
These twelve Jesus sent out with the following instructions: ". . .As you go, proclaim this message: ‘The kingdom of heaven has come near.’ Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those who have leprosy, drive out demons. Freely you have received; freely give." ~Matthew 10:5-8
Jesus hears every child’s cry. He calms every fear in His embrace. And somehow Jesus transforms every heartache into a new heart’s home. He walked before us every path we try to navigate. And if we will but stop and listen to Him, He’ll show us how to step gently into the footprints where others are faltering to stand.
Let’s extend the compassion of Jesus, the welcome of Jesus, the love of God to the broken and hurting, the misguided and confused, the wounded warriors among us. In a word—it’s His grace. To the average person it means finding Life where there had been loss and emptiness. Our call as Jesus' Followers is to simply give what we have freely received. Whatever victory God has given us, we are to extend willingly and openly to others. He goes before us to do abundantly more than we can even ask or think. He is ready to do the “even greater works” through us.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, how amazing is Your grace and Your mercy which You have freely given to us, to me, in Christ! I cannot keep this gift to myself. All around me people wait and hunger and thirst for true abundant life. Forgive me for withholding from them the hope You have given me. Forgive me for enjoying yet hoarding the victory of Christ’s resurrection power for my own life without eagerly sharing the joy with others. Open my eyes to see those around me as You see them. And open my hands to freely give as I have received, I pray. In Jesus’ name, amen.
