“Rend your heart and not your garments. Return to the Lord your God, . . . . Blow the trumpet in Zion, declare a holy fast, call a sacred assembly. Gather the people, consecrate the assembly; bring together the elders, gather the children, . . . Let them say, ‘Spare your people, Lord. Do not make your inheritance an object of scorn, a byword among the nations. Why should they say among the peoples, ‘Where is their God?’” ~Joel 2:13, 15-17
Spirit-filled people are the Church’s greatest need today. The Church has forsaken its first love and has lost its first power (see Revelation 2:4). As a result it has largely lost its miraculous growth rate. There are very few places in the world today where it can be said that the Lord is adding daily to the church those being saved (Acts 2:47). The Church in our generation is facing greater opportunity, a greater need, and a greater challenge than the Church of any previous generation. But how largely has the glory of God departed from our churches, so that the word “Ichabod” could be written over the door of many places of worship. (See 1 Samuel 4:21).
Our generation will come to God only when it sees new demonstrations of God’s reality, presence and power in his people individually and as the Church. The Church is largely asleep — lukewarm, lifeless and powerless. We are not impacting our communities the way in which we should. Therefore the Church must be revived. We must have a new visitation of God. (Wesley Duewel)

Prayer: Heavenly Father, we come together across the generations—our children, youth, and adults—to seek You together. We need You. You are the Reviver of our hearts and souls, even of our churches. We believe You yet have a new work to do in and through this next generation. Our children and youth need to encounter You as clearly as those spiritual leaders of previous generations so they will be set ablaze with Your glory. Then Your power will impact our communities and nations like never before. Come, send Your Holy Spirit to revive us and do a new work in and through us, we pray. Amen
